Limited
Dental Warranty
Our
practice has always been proud of the dentistry that we provide
for our patients and their families and our confidence in what we
do has always been a factor in the limited warranty we stand by.
And, although this has never been written down on paper, it has
applied to any of the major procedures done in this office. The
long-term success of any dental work is dependent upon a diligent
home care program and regular professional exams, cleanings, x-rays
(when needed) and fluoride treatments. With that in mind, we offer
the limited dental warranty on the following specific procedures.
DENTAL SEALANTS
Sealants are bonded coatings placed into the pits and fissures of
the chewing surfaces of permanent teeth (usually the molars). These
are the first areas to decay in the permanent dentition and sealants
close up these anatomical food traps protecting the teeth from the
hostile oral environment. We will repair or replace sealants for
a period of three years after placement. If decay becomes established
on these chewing surfaces within this period of time, a replacement
filling will be done at no charge.
COMPOSITE OR SILVER FILLINGS
If a filling is the recommended treatment of choice, we will replace
or repair it in the event of failure for a period of two years.
If that tooth should break requiring a crown or onlay within that
time period, we will credit the cost of the filling toward whatever
it takes to restore it to optimal function.
ROOT CANAL FILLINGS
Root canal treatment is around 95% successful the failures usually
being in teeth that have aberrant or extra root canal systems (although
there are other reasons for failure). If you lose your tooth within
three years due to failure of the root canal treatment, we will
refund the root canal fee or apply it as a credit towards a replacement
tooth..
CROWNS, BRIDGES, INLAYS AND ONLAYS
We will warranty these most comprehensive procedures for a full
five years. We will replace or repair them at no charge during this
five year period if they break with normal use (this does not include
accidents that could also break normal teeth).
NOTE: As you can see, we are confident of the durability
of our treatment as prescribed for you. The primary key to your
long term success is spending a few minutes a day on your home care:
brushing, flossing or irrigation and using fluoride if prescribed.
The second key to success is regular professional examinations,
cleanings and fluoride treatments at 2, 3, 4 or 6 month intervals
depending upon your condition. This warranty does not
cover accidents that cause damage to teeth or dental prostheses.
Also, failure to have these regular visits
with our office voids all warranties! Help us to help
you maintain your teeth for a lifetime.
